THERAPIES

CBT and skills-focused therapy for adult ADHD

Structured help with organization, planning, procrastination and the patterns ADHD tends to create.

How it works

ADHD-focused CBT teaches concrete systems (planners, breaking tasks down, managing distraction) and addresses the discouraging beliefs that years of struggling can leave behind. It is often used alongside medication.

What the evidence says, use by use

Evidence is specific to the condition, population and—for devices—the exact product. One label never covers everything.

UK guidelines advise considering structured, ADHD-focused psychological support (which may include CBT) for adults, particularly when medication isn't chosen, isn't tolerated or isn't enough.
