THERAPIES

Eating-disorder-focused therapies (FBT, CBT-ED)

Specialist therapies for anorexia, bulimia and binge-eating disorder.

How it works

Family-based treatment puts parents temporarily in charge of restoring nutrition for a young person, then gradually returns control. Eating-disorder-focused CBT targets the cycle of restriction, bingeing and body-image concerns.

What the evidence says, use by use

Evidence is specific to the condition, population and—for devices—the exact product. One label never covers everything.
