Alaska's Senior and Disabilities Services IDD Unit oversees developmental-disability eligibility, the DD Registry/waitlist, the Individualized Supports Waiver (ISW) and the broader IDD Waiver. Applicants first need a developmental-disability determination, Medicaid eligibility and ICF/IID level-of-care.
Important: Alaska uses a DD Registry/waitlist before waiver entry. Applicants can ask to be considered for ISW, IDD Waiver or both. ISW has a cost cap and does not offer the same extensive out-of-home supports as the IDD Waiver, so keep the DD Registry record current.
