Connecticut's Department of Developmental Services (DDS) serves people with intellectual disability and operates community supports, employment, technology and waiver-funded services. A separate Department of Social Services Autism Waiver serves some autistic adults without intellectual disability.
Important: Connecticut has two importantly different pathways: DDS eligibility for intellectual disability and a separate Autism Waiver for qualifying autistic people with IQ 70 or above. The Autism Waiver is capacity-limited and has a waiting list.
