Kansas uses local Community Developmental Disability Organizations (CDDOs) as the entry point for I/DD waiver eligibility. Alongside the traditional I/DD waiver, a new Community Supports Waiver became effective October 1, 2026 for people who do not need continuous 24-hour support.
Important: Kansas now has two importantly different I/DD HCBS pathways. Ask the local CDDO whether the traditional I/DD Waiver or the newer Community Supports Waiver better matches the person's support intensity and goals.
