MaineCare operates two primary HCBS waiver pathways for adults with intellectual disability and/or autism: Section 21 Comprehensive Waiver and Section 29 Support Waiver. Case managers help with MaineCare, waiver applications and service planning.
Important: Section 21 and Section 29 serve different support intensities, and a person can only be enrolled in one at a time. Case Management is available separately and does not require waiver enrollment.
