Virginia

Virginia uses three Developmental Disability HCBS waivers—Building Independence, Family & Individual Supports, and Community Living—administered through Medicaid and DBHDS. Local Community Services Boards are the entry point for screening, support coordination and the waiver waitlist.

Important: Virginia currently has a DD waiver waiting list. Slots are assigned based on urgency of need, not simply date alone. People on the waitlist may still be eligible for case management and other community supports through their local CSB.
